I'm going to drag this in here and you see it's going to say, hey this is going to change the original. These are composition filters and they do a whole variety of things. Now if these sound familiar you may be thinking of quartz filters which allow you to do things like compress PDF's. The one we want is Apply Quartz Composition Filter to Image Files. So once we have that let's search for Quartz. It's simple and it will just create a copy in the same location as the original. Now you can use Copy Files for this but I like using Duplicate Finder Items better. ![]() So first I want to get that image and make a duplicate of it because this filter is going to change the image passed into it. ![]() You could do this as a Quick Action but I'm going to use it as an application so we can just drag and drop an image onto it. Let's start off here in the Automator app and we're going to create an application. So you could build a quick little app that allows you to easily get to these filters and apply them to any image file. There is a way to access them using Automator.
